Deutsche Bank AG Chief Executive Christian Sewing sees a 50% chance of a global recession, a prediction that Citigroup Inc. economists have also made. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell says a US recession is a possibility, but not inevitable. Morgan Stanley economists expect a mild euro-area recession at the end of 2022.

  • The prospect of an economic slowdown also casts a specter of doubt over whether the European Central Bank will be able to tighten monetary policy sufficiently to rein in record-high inflation.
  • Deutsche Bank suggested that the euro could fall into the $0.95-0.97 range if “Europe and the U.S. find themselves slip-sliding in to a (deeper) recession in Q3 while the Fed is still hiking rates.”

The US has been printing $$$ like toilet paper since the subprime crisis. They could get away with it as long as the petrol is traded in USD. But Putin and the Saudi royalties have other plans
