STOMPer Lim says she caught this 15-year-old girl taking a handbag from her shop. She managed to wrestle the girl down after a struggle during which time the girl had fought her and even bit her on the arm.
She reports that she sustained bruises in the process of apprehending the girl, including bites on her arm.

"This girl carrying a brown shoulder bag, wearing a black top and brushing her hair to one side(thinking she very chio) shoplifted from my shop and caused me bruises!
"She came into my shop on Mar 1, at about 6pm, took a dress and wanted to try it on. I assisted her, and she asked me to find another dress for her. While I was browsing which dress to recommend to her, I saw her remove a bag on my mannequin and swiftly close up the fitting room curtain.
"I felt this was strange but I thought it should be fine or perhaps she wanted to try the dress together with the bag. She thought that I did not see her take it in, but apparently I did. So I passed her another dress I recommended, and few minutes later she came out with the two dresses, and said 'thank you, I think they don't suit me, thank you.'
"She & walked out of my shop saying 'thank you' for the third time. My sixth sense told me something was wrong. I double-checked if the bag was placed back onto the mannequin (as some customers will do that) but it wasn't there!
"I checked the areas near the fitting room but found nothing! I panicked and asked my neighbours opposite my shop if they saw that girl. Then at a distance from where I was standing, she walked past another shop, saw me looking at her, and at that split second I knew I had to give chase.
"She ran to the UOB and DBS atm machines and to the back of the machines which is a dark area below the stairs. She threw the bag out on the floor and tried to escape. I held on to her and she began struggling; biting me, pushing, wrestling whatsoever you can name it.
"She was skinny but her strength is like a bull! I had to pull her to the security counter which is a level up via the escalator but she just wouldn't go.
"ALL THE WHILE I WAS SHOUTING 'PLEASE HELP THERE'S A SHOPLIFTER!' RIGHT INFRONT OF THE ATM MACHINES WAS A VERY LONG QUEUE BUT NOBODY GAVE A HELPING HAND! ALL SEE SEE LOOK LOOK ONLY! OHMYGOD!
"Meanwhile she was still trying to escape, I knew I had to find help because I cant take her strength anymore, so I pulled her into a shop and the salesgirl helped me stall her (thanks!). My shop's neighbour came in and she went up to get the security. She also helped me to retrieve the bag that the girl threw because I had to get hold of her so the bag was still there. I'm very thankful to her!
"When the security guy came, the shoplifter tried to walk away , here and there, using her phone, all the way to the loading bay area and we had to follow her and escort her back to my shop. While more security men came and stood outside around my shop waiting for the police to come, guess what she told me.
"'You have no CCTV what can you do?!", ARROGANTLY. Later on, it was all the denying part when police arrived and she even said I ACCUSED her. HOW RIDICULOUS!! SHE is NOT REMORSEFUL AT ALL AND WHILE WE WERE WAITING FOR THE POLICE TO COME, SHE EXCLAIMED THAT SHE WANTED TO CALL THE POLICE THAT I ACCUSED HER!? SHE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE AFRAID AT ALL! The security checked the cctv around the areas and caught us in them. Evidence intact. Oh well. If you did not steal, would you run? WOULD YOU TRY TO ESCAPE?
"I've a feeling the police can't do anything to her because she is still 15 though she is 16 this year but does that mean we can let her off scot free??! For shop owners just in case she ever patronize(patronize by stealing) your shop, please be extra careful. REMEMBER HER FACE.
"This happened a few hours ago and I'm still badly traumatized because this is my first time catching someone red-handed. And I'm so upset because onlookers were just onlookers NOBODY HELPED WHEN I SHOUTED HELP. THERE WERE AT LEAST 20-30 ODD PEOPLE AROUND US.
"Initially I thought the injuries were only on my limbs but I went for a check-up just now and the doctor found that I've scratches on my neck as well and I'm suffering from fractures on my arms.
"If she was apologetic on the shoptheft I can still let it rest and forgive her because she is still young. Perhaps she really like the bag a lot but has no money for it, but instead of apologising, she appeared very stuck up and arrogant even when the police were here, and thought I can't do anything to her.
"Not a single word of apology. The way she spoke yesterday matches that of a hooligan, an 'ahlian'.
