AsiaOne*|*Fri, Apr 03, 2015

Two people died and three men were injured in a fire that broke out at 88 Geylang Lorong 6 early Friday morning, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) in a statement.

SCDF said it was alerted to the fire at about 4am and dispatched two fire engines, three red rhinos, three ambulances and three supporting vehicles to the scene.

Firefighters brought out two people they found lying motionless in one of the rooms.

They were later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

SCDF extinguished the fire within 30 minutes.

Two men who sustained burn injuries were conveyed to Singapore General Hospital and another man who had a sprained right wrist was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

total disregard for fire safety in this building?

Despite the previous fire that also claimed some life, why it happened again?

Not surprising.

Geylang is the kinda place where it's easily to 欲火焚身.

Like the ICA excuse that, we have a long coastline, M.O.M., excuse will be there are too many stairs to climb. What happened to the enforcement detail?? busy??
