A resident living at Geylang East Avenue 1 is frustrated with a neighbour who has turned the common corridor outside their flat into what he describes as a personal extension of their home.

Stomper Kevin shared photos showing several chairs, potted plants, mounted items and even a large sign placed outside the unit.

"They’ve even put their unit number on the common wall, instead of on their gate or door," he said.

According to Kevin, the clutter includes four to five chairs, cleaning materials, and about four to five items mounted directly on the shared corridor wall.

"There's also one giant painting beside their gate on the wall,” he added. "All of these violate HDB, SCDF and Town Council rules."

In response to a Stomp query, the Marine Parade Town Council (MPTC) said they are aware of the situation and have been actively engaging the resident involved to declutter.

"To create a safer and more comfortable living environment, we urge residents to refrain from installing unauthorised structures in common areas, reduce clutter and not to obstruct their corridors/staircase and its landings," an MPTC spokesperson said.

Residents with estate-related concerns are encouraged to contact the town council directly via its hotlines at 1800-241-6487 or 1800-287-6530, or through its social media channels on Facebook or Instagram (@marineparadetc).
