IMO, there will not be black and white to say the uniform service cannot go...but those in uniform service know better not to go

Friends with high rank in uniform service keeps donating through SMS during the public charity shows. I asked them why, they said so that it will show in their tax return and donch know what tracking.....good for career advancement.

Some por lum pa point scorer will sureely keep coming up with suggestions to use the statistics collected at the casinos...i.e. information to MOM, professional bodies etc.

If got to go gamble, go genting or regional better, IMO.

I heard those in civil service are banned from the casinos. The ones in uniforms are confirmed barred from going.

As for the rest, perhaps they are too worried about being PROFILED IN DETAIL if they visit the casinos. may affect their performance bonuses and promotion.

Heard from some friends that went yesterday (CNY Day1) at 8pm that it was indeed crowded.....but RWS created this crowed feeling by opening very few gaming tables.

party people will go there for the clubs to celebrate their bachelor, birthday party or etc....

shoppers will go there for their first class shoppings..

food lovers will go there for their top of the class gourmet...

sports lovers will go there for large screening of sports and enjoy a couple of beers while watching....and there are even tourist who goes there to enjoy taking photos of the unique building designs..like Caesar palace, vatican and etc....

gamblers go there to gamble and also the above mentioned activities as well.....

and the list goes on...thats y people like going to vegas and now macau is following suit...its all in one

Just an opinion on why they opened in a strange period of time.

They probably opened on CNY because they know that people are too busy elsewhere. With the low base to start with, in the comming months they can boast that visitors number have increased hundreds,...thousands percent.

There is no real issue. The Singapore Flyer is a good example. It is still a going concern.

All that needs to be done is to position the casinos as tourist attractions and every day, every hour you will find them packed. We have rich neighbours.

They do not need to rely on Singaporeans in their business strategy. In many ways, this is good for us. The foreigners come here to donate their money. Seldom do people win at casinos in the long run. They bring their social problems back to their own country. We keep their money.
