But they will not be so foolish to push through unpopular policies. That will certainly backfire. Singaporeans are not stupid. They are not daft and dumb.
If you push them to the wall, they will react. And the reaction can be unexpected.

A mandate is given by the people and it should be accepted with great respect and humility.

The responsibility is grave and the burden is heavy.

But the problem is that in time to come, the New Citizens will dictate the outcome of all future elections.

They will vote for P*P and Singaporeans are powerless to do anything.

We are doomed ! Opposition parties will be a thing of the past soon.

How on earth can they win by an additonal 10% form the last election basing on ground sentiments and negative feedback on th eruling party.

I am dumfounded. New citizens may even be planted purposely into opposition wards to swing election results.

the growth rate for new citizens per year from 2011 to 2013 is averaging 0.9% to 1%, which translates to 30k year on year, and this is pretty much the same from 2008 to 2011. at 30k per year, if 20k are naturalized adult foreigners (who can vote right away), those who are newly minted citizens through birth (and they can't vote yet) are only 10k per year. moreover, births are declining in sg year on year. and the period from the mid 80s to the mid 90s saw a steady decline already except for the "dragon" year. this basically means new citizens from naturalization of foreign adults who are ready to vote far outpace those by birth and who are considered "organic homegrown" sinkies by a ratio of 2 to 1. if there were 100k "organic homegrown" sinkie citizens from the period 1985 to 1994 who came of age in 2015 to vote, there would be 200k naturalized foreign adults from the period 2006 to 2015 who are ready to vote. thus, 160k of naturalized foreign adults from the period 2008 to 2015 is fairly accurate if the 2006 to 2015 number is intrapolated.

conclusion: the impact of newly minted shitizens from the adult foreigner base in the 2015 ge is far greater than the impact of "organic homegrown" first-time sinkie voters. 7% vs. 2% contribution to the overall 69% mandate. i'm revealing my source and how i derive my 69% prediction, with the assumption that pap can maintain an iron base of at least 60% from the 2011 ge.

advice for the pap: the new naturalized citizens will eventually morphed into sinkies akin to disenfranchised "organic homegrown" sinkies over several years, and they will not remain sympathetic and grateful towards you. in fact, they will not be so easily cowed in the future when they have fully sunken their stakes in sg as they cum from risk-taking spur in the hide stock. they will challenge your political legitimacy in less than one generation. take heed. and congrats!

net increase--402k

Singaporean babies--120k (4yrs)

conclusion---new citizens --288k (14% increase)
no surprise of 10% swing.

those who attended the rallies voted Oppo but overwhelmed by the new citizens whom are the silent voters that tip local votes.

By 2020, there would be no more oppo parties in Singapore.
This is the main reason of 6.9 million.

No wonder some PAP GRCs need no GE rallies , they know new citizens are around to give mandate!

This added more than 25% to the electoral register of 2011(2.06m voters).
These are all with good jobs, no NS liability.
The proportion voting for PAP would be very high.
Many new citizen voters did not get to vote in 2011 because many seats were uncontested.
500,000 ( at least) in 2.06m is 25% of pro PAP voters compared to 2011,
or 20% of 2015 voters.
In 2011, PAP got 61% of elected votes. in 2015, it got 70%.
In any constituency, the new citizen voters make up 20-25% of the electoral register.

Pappies are dumb but not so dumb beyond hope. They took in new foreign imported sinkies above 21 year old, eligible to vote, still raw to oppo parties' call to support multi parties in Parliament.

The rally call of oppo parties is not about toppling the pappies but to crush pappies' domination of parliament but to these new fake sinkies, it makes no difference to them. These fake new sinkies originated from countries violence is a way of life...Myanmar, Pinoyland, China, Vietname... unlike sinapor where locals tend to be law abiding. In time, these foreign new fake sinkies will rise up against pappies or the locals to carve their domain in the country.

Pappies think they can control or talk cock to these foreign fake sinkies like they been doing to the locals. They may be new to sinapor but over time, the violence streak in their culture will erupt. Already, the pinoys are openely saying they wanted to take over sinapor. Pappies are dumb.
