Whatever good or greatness the PAP did during the early years of independence is now completely and utterly neutralized by them paying themselves millions of dollar.
We are already paying them 10 times more than their peers, should they still expect us to be grateful and worshipping them?
They are paid a high salary to do a big job. Period. If they do well, congratulations, they've earned their salary; nothing for us to be thankful/ grateful for.
If they are taking an average pay and doing a great job out of the sense of social responsibility, then yes. I will be eternally grateful to them.
But they are not.
This is like you paying for an electrician to fix your electrical problem. He did a half fucked job, expect to be paid full and then tells you to be grateful you can still use some electricial appliance because before he came, you cannot even turn on the lights.
Problem is, even with million dollar salary, they are not worth their salt.
