Yes, LHL has publicly acknowledged and taken responsibility for that decision. LYK and TT has publicly expressed their doubts but it's the PM to decide. During GCT's time as PM, the casino idea was already floating around but GCT didn't want to back it too. It was LHL who backed it.

It's still early days to measure and tell the pros and cons. But my impression is, there're many Singaporeans gambling there despite the levy. Whereas, there're very few Singaporeans getting jobs there. Their published employment figures are mirky as they count PRs as locals.

How long more before the pap acknowledges that casinos are bad for SG. If the pap refuses to acknowledge, even after 10yrs, they can still rationalise that is still too early to ascertain the long term effects.

the higher, senior position are helmed by ang mohs & americans...but hopefully, after a few years...they will slowly pass onto locals...

the lower positions, croupers etc...are shunned by locals - long hours, smoky environment, shifts etc...and pay sucks...supplement only by tips...not easy.

the casinos create more jobs for the foreign workers. the casinos caused more social and matrimonial problems to singaporeans. the casinos bring in more vices and crimes to SG

if lhl's intellect is substandard, dont blame his ministers. they just present what they think is best for SG. as PM, lhl makes the final decision and gives the go ahead. good decision, he takes the credit. bad decision, the PM takes the blame. so if casino i bad for SG, LHL takes the blame. i dun agree with anyone who tries to push the blame to his ministers
