A CHUBBY youngster has become an internet phenomenon – because his head looks like a thumb.
Dubbed ’Thumbman’, the tubby lad shot to fame after a picture of him posing with three pals circulated the web.
And now people are rushing to sign up to a Facebook group called The bloke that looks like a thumb appreciation society.
He even has his own website – thumbman.net – which sells merchandise including T-shirts, baseball caps and keyrings with his face emblazoned across them.
Photoshopped images on the site show Thumbman cuddling two attractive ladies and others show him in scenes from cult film Star Wars.
The site claims to have been set up by the Thumbman himself but is accompanied by a disclaimer saying it was set up for 'comedy satire’.
The disclaimer also states: “The photoshops and original are just the funniest pictures we have ever seen and we want to spread the laughter and love of Thumbman.”
British comedy actor and TV presenter Stephen Fry is credited with starting the craze after he posted the original picture on website Twitter.
His real identity is still unknown.
