LHL can well afford the legal fees even without any donations.

The purpose of starting a donation drive is symbolic. It is a chance for law abiding and fair minded Singaporeans to send a clear message that we do not like our honorable PM to be accused of theft from the public coffers.

For drew and Napier, this is an easy peasy case. Thy probably won't charge a cent due to publicity and distinguished client.. But that would go against LHL if the public finds out. Besides, the PAP will back LHL with donation drive. Its not that he needs it. he has more than enough. Plus pension coming his way. I think he may step down anyway the moment his father is no more. LHL has been viciously defamed and as a result, he'll have to spend a considerable amount of his own money to clear his name. Drew & Napier lawyers don't come cheap.

Even if he is awarded a quantum of damages that reflects the hurt and harm that Roy Ngerng has inflicated upon our honorable PM, it is very unlikely that Roy will be able to cough up more than a few thousand dollars as he is one of those losers of society who spends most of his time blaming everyone else for his misfortunes.
