Fund Raising Drive for LHL

LHL has been viciously defamed and as a result, he'll have to spend a considerable amount of his own money to clear his name. Drew & Napier lawyers don't come cheap.

Even if he is awarded a quantum of damages that reflects the hurt and harm that Roy Ngerng has inflicated upon our honorable PM, it is very unlikely that Roy will be able to cough up more than a few thousand dollars as he is one of those losers of society who spends most of his time blaming everyone else for his misfortunes.

I am therefore starting a donation drive for LHL with a target of ↁ100.

To start the ball rolling, I am pledging Ten Derisories [ↁ10]. [ↁ1 = $5000]

Please show your support for LHL by pledging the amount you would like to donate in this thread. When the target is reached, I will make arrangements to transfer the money.

Let's show the 39.9% that when it comes to fund raising, we, the 60.1%, have far deeper pockets.

LHL can well afford the legal fees even without any donations.

The purpose of starting a donation drive is symbolic. It is a chance for law abiding and fair minded Singaporeans to send a clear message that we do not like our honorable PM to be accused of theft from the public coffers.

Knowing the PM, he will donate whatever amount of Derisories he receives from this fund towards helping the people of Singapore. He doesn't need the money for himself.

pinkie is making over $8k a day base on his basic salary of PM only. with bonuses and benefits plus other incomes from his other govt roles, ie..MAS chairman, MP for teckgee etc etc... , pinkie shd at least be making $20k a day. so the legal fee the least of his concern.

I see no reason why the funds should be considered to be a bribe for the simple reason that we, the supporters of LHL, expect nothing in return. It's a symbolic show of support for the man we admire and respect.

Money is only considered to be a bribe if the person(s) offering the money do so to influence the decision making process or behavior of the intended recipient.

Read the post above. I already stated that I am fully aware that LHL does not need the money. We are doing it to show our respect and support for him and not because we think he can't afford to sue.

Damages is separate from legal fees. Damages paid in defamation cases are to compensate for the harm caused by the untruths that were uttered.

When the judge passes sentence, Roy will have to pay 2 bills.. one for damages and one for legal fees incurred by LHL.

If you are paid a salary to perform a job, the money you receive becomes yours and is reflected in a bank account in your name.

If you are subsequently sued, you'll have to pay your own legal fees. Your employer is not going to pay the bill for you.
