In thinking back on what we have seen revealed about the ways and methods that the PAP has used its dominance to attack alternatives, twist democratic principles, change laws and the constitution to get its way and bully and deprive the citizens who voted against them the more it is clear that they no longer have any moral or ethical authority to be where they are.... All they seem to have is threats, fixes, fear and force and that is not a situation that I believe can exist for very long before it collapses in to chaos or worse.
And behind all that is an air of entitlement and unaccountability from a group who pursues policies that appear ever more clearly meant for the benefit of the few and to the detriment of the many. Policies and economic models moreover being put forward by a team who inherited most of what they have, who are insular and far less competent than their forebears and are designing and implementing ways to make the nation unlivable for all but their chosen few.
So this coming election won't just be about restoring good governance and running the nation as a country for all the people again, it will be about the very survival of the ordinary citizen in the face of what I can only describe as a cold, calculating and, for want of a better word, vicious "elite" who have no compunction to sacrifice anything or anyone to stay in their positions of power because they must know in their hearts exactly how undeserving they are and exactly what they are doing to Singapore as a whole.
This Machiavellian group must be ejected before the damage they are doing becomes irreparable. Already our society is fracturing and faltering and our country and culture is drowning in a sea of imports and the worst top down examples of extreme capitalism, callousness and indifference towards others. Poverty is growing, suicides are increasing and depression, stress, unhappiness and a sense of isolation are becoming widespread. We are now feeling like outsiders in our own country and it is only getting worse.
As ordinary Singaporeans we will be fighting for the future of the nation, to rebuild the kampong spirit and a sense of identity and to create a country with a real community and a chance of a future for all again... While the PAP and their clique are fighting for themselves and protecting the mass of wealth, power and privilege they have accumulated over the decades at everyone elses expense.
In our hearts I am sure most of us think many of these things but thinking changes nothing. Only by sharing our views and taking real action can we change the dark path we are currently on. I think a sense of fear and your silence is exactly what the PAP wants but don't give in to that pressure to be the cowardly sheep that they want you to be.
We can't go on anymore with blinkers on our eyes pretending all is well but fortunately real alternatives are now emerging even in the face of all the suppression. You are not alone and now have a real chance to make a difference. Please get the conversation going, support the alternatives and spread the word as far and as wide as possible.
Together we can reclaim Singapore for the people. Every Singaporean counts and the country belongs to all of us not just the PAP.
