The insignificant nobody me feels that the thesis is well meaning, but looks like it was written by naive sheltered school kids who lived in Disneyland, & yet to live & work in the real world. The greatest mistake the West made in WW2 was to disregard & banned the book - Mein Kampf - by Hitler. In it was written, outlined & clearly displayed what Hitler would do when he got into power. Devolution is when we ban ideas & expressions, & presumed it would go quietly away from Human consciousness. It will NOT.
An ideology CANNOT be shut by bans, censorships or bullets, or whatever tyrants can dream of, as proven in Humankind's successful War on Radical Islamic Terrorism. It can only be REPLACED by a BETTER & honest ideology, to progress & evolve Humanity, as proven by reaching out, challenging concepts, misinterpretations & perspectives, & bringing in inclusively onboard the Muslim communities TOGETHER to counter Islamic radicalism - a proven BLUEPRINT to eradicate harmful ideologies - economic or societal.
Rather than ban, it would be better to engage & turn perspectives away from presumed 'toxic communities'. As for the word used 'obscene mediascapes', it is offensive to Humankind. It is from sex that Humankind are born. If sex is obscene, then none of us would be alive today.
It is agreed that within sexual acts, there are many forms that may be weird to straight laced victorian prudes, but so long as none is harmed, each is a willing party, there is no cause for concern. Of concern will be child porn, human trafficking or other harmful acts that needs authorities to take against such, to protect the vulnerable.
