Fried Kway Teow @ Eunos Crescent

My all time favorite at least once a month i must have it. Soft moist and not oily, long long queue.

Outram Park Fried Kway Teow Mee 欧南园炒粿條面
Hong Lim Food Centre #02-17, 531A Upper Cross Street, Singapore 051531
Opening Hours: 6am – 3:30pm (Mon – Sat), Closed Sun, PH

This is one plate of Char Kway Teow I have eaten since young, though not so frequently now because the queue is superbly long, especially after it was listed in the Michelin Bib Gourmand.

While it is not as smoky or oily than his father’s, Mr Ng Chin Chye’s skills of executing a plate of Char Kway Teow with wok hei cannot be undermined.

He fries every plate individually, squeezing an exact 42 squeezes of a special mixture made of soy sauce and fish sauce.

Its characteristic is its rather eggy and soft texture, lots of cockles added.

Watching him fry was a joy – always with a smile and often dancing, and you wonder how long it would continue for as his children are not likely to take over the business. Outram Park Fried Kway Teow Mee (Hong Lim Food Centre)

my only beef with the Eunos CKT is this- their sausage not very good quality, too powdery when you’re chewing it.

If he can switch to a more decent lupcheong, would be good.

Can also use lamb cubes or mutton cubes,
But bestest must have big Hums.

Bestest ckt still at Telok Blangah, previously from Margaret Drive.

This is from the market stall, far end of middle aisle, nearer to the MRT side.
If you prefer a drier version of the Bedok North Hill St CKT, this Eunos CKT could score a hit.

i live there..............eaten at this stall for decades...............standard dropped couple times liao..............last ate there 2 years ago - not planning to eat for years to come........

Yes, the son can't maintain the father's standards. Maybe need another few years ...

the mee goreng at the same market is good, SJ Sickander Ammal, their mee goreng comes with nice kambing bits.

I knew what you meant.
Kambing bits,
but the bits are smaller than
My pee-sai.

yup, standards have dropped :coffee::coffee::coffee:

we may have met more than once, good to know a fellow sammyboy in the hood :biggrin::biggrin:

Just like Tiong Bahru ckt,
old man retired,
Dog-ter took over.
believe me, your home cook
maggi noodles are betterest.

Ref all ckt stalls,
Whats really sad is that the Hums are so small like pee-sai.
