Four year old Brit girl joins Mensa with 159 IQ

Agree on that. A lot of intelligent people get bored easily with routine school and their attention is drawn elsewhere. Some leave school before the rest.

If you had the 2 guys IQ tested I dun think they will score very high.
Ditto for some of those scholars....high IQ people usually do well academically (with minimal effort) but not all who aced exams have superior IQ.

There are days when I would like to line you up against the wall and shoot you. This statement warrants that. A great mind meant to advance humanity lost hopefully not forever.

All looks good to me.

High IQ people are more suited to work closed door in laboratories.

Sadly it seems there is a natural balance in every human being.. IQ and EQ seems to be inversely related.

Sad but do agree on nature's way of creating balance.

There is no point in having very high IQ if there is no money to be made from it. Nikola Tesla died a poor man.

Intelligent people are vegetarians.

I bet the 4 year old will become a vegetarian in the near future.

Only dumbfucks eat meat.

High IQ link to being vegetarian

Vegetarianism has been linked to better heart health
Intelligent children are more likely to become vegetarians later in life, a study says.
A Southampton University team found those who were vegetarian by 30 had recorded five IQ points more on average at the age of 10.

Researchers said it could explain why people with higher IQ were healthier as a vegetarian diet was linked to lower heart disease and obesity rates.

The study of 8,179 was reported in the British Medical Journal.

Twenty years after the IQ tests were carried out in 1970, 366 of the participants said they were vegetarian - although more than 100 reported eating either fish or chicken.

Men who were vegetarian had an IQ score of 106, compared with 101 for non-vegetarians; while female vegetarians averaged 104, compared with 99 for non-vegetarians.

We've always known that vegetarianism is an intelligent, compassionate choice benefiting animals, people and the environment
Liz O'Neill, of The Vegetarian Society
There was no difference in IQ score between strict vegetarians and those who said they were vegetarian but who reported eating fish or chicken.

Researchers said the findings were partly related to better education and higher occupational social class, but it remained statistically significant after adjusting for these factors.

Vegetarians were more likely to be female, to be of higher occupational social class and to have higher academic or vocational qualifications than non-vegetarians.

However, these differences were not reflected in their annual income, which was similar to that of non-vegetarians.

Lead researcher Catharine Gale said: "The finding that children with greater intelligence are more likely to report being vegetarian as adults, together with the evidence on the potential benefits of a vegetarian diet on heart health, may help to explain why higher IQ in childhood or adolescence is linked with a reduced risk of coronary heart disease in adult life."

Intelligence

However, she added the link may be merely an example of many other lifestyle preferences that might be expected to vary with intelligence, such as choice of newspaper, but which may or may not have implications for health.

Liz O'Neill, of the Vegetarian Society, said: "We've always known that vegetarianism is an intelligent, compassionate choice benefiting animals, people and the environment.

"Now we've got the scientific evidence to prove it. Maybe that explains why many meat-reducers are keen to call themselves vegetarians when even they must know that vegetarians don't eat chicken, turkey or fish."

But Dr Frankie Phillips, of the British Dietetic Association, said: "It is like the chicken and the egg. Do people become vegetarian because they have a very high IQ or is it just that they tend to be more aware of health issues?"

Mensa has done a few studies before on their members and its ain't pretty. Interestingly I am told the concept of money does not resonate with these guys. They consider it chattels at best. Some are actually looked after by their parents or siblings.

One of the most important developments in the last 20 years is the recruitment of these individuals into state intelligence agencies. They have even taken in people with autism which is common accompanying ailment with this lot. It seems to be working well. The second Tao sibling is with an Intelligence agency.

Unfortunately our local boys prefer those who are politically acute as they are more into analysis of the "keep the boss" happy type.

According to Mensa, the signs of a gifted child include an unusual memory, reading at an early age, intolerance of other children and an awareness of world events. A gifted child will also ask questions all of the time.

boss sam have this (intolerance of other children). 1 out of 5 only. so confirm he is not gifted.

if you eat exclusively only plants, you will be an idiot. tonychat is a living proof.

Top 2% among what?...local Sinkies?...Guess who is this bright spark?....Well don't know how it goes with football bets.....but in gambling on political winners......this one tried to lit a candle underwater....LOL

To all those people who said I will never get into Mensa ... Well, screw you (Especially the very fugly NUS law kid who so determindedly predicted so. Who's the smartass now, huh?).

Uh uh! Unless you have taken the test and passed it, you cannot say "Big deal!", simply because it is quite a big deal to be have intellect at the top 2% of the general populace; if you have taken the test and "passed" it, well, I'm on par with you.

Jolly good Xmas present Mensa! Thanks! =)

Well well well. Top 2%? IQ 148 and above? This must be the biggest achievement in my life! The second biggest is that my PSLE is 269, and that's only top 3%! My gosh!

More hao lianing later, Eileen is coming over to my place. She said to stay over and watch DVDs but I know her. She doesn't really like my company. She is just hankering over my 1 litre bottle of Bailey's. Tsk tsk. Shall let it pass.

- My IQ is so staggeringly high, I startle myself sometimes.-
