Forum points revamp?

I like this change. Doesn't reward those that post rubbish just to increase postcount to gain power.

look like those forummer who register at 2008 gain the most from this point revamp excerise by ah leong.

most suddenly become very powerful because of seniority.

PS. i seems to gain extra 3 rep points too.

I think this is quite fair.
But again , it breeds contempt and tyranny.
Some seniors are so powerful and so influential they can do whatever they want now.
Back to ancient imperialism and seniority patronage.
You can see for yourself who are the laujias who are intellectually arrogant, contemptuous and vindictive.

The comparison is not appropriate. In the "other" forum, a high point nick means you can get FL contact more easily. There is a tangible, material benefit involved.

In this forum, points and power are for pure ego. Nonetheless, I am dismayed that my power has been cut in half. Its like having half a testicle sawed off.

Don't worry about that your close alliance with ah screw means that somehow you'll be held in "higher esteem" compared to some other forummers.

What I intend to do is remove infractions as a moderating tool and put more emphasis on reputation points to influence community behavior.

Rep pts are a successful means of influencing conduct only when there is something tangible attached, like ease of getting FL & OKT contacts.

As Scroobal has said, it is also more effective in a thematic forum (the "other" forum for instance) where obviously there are people in know as well as various power brokers that can make or break someone's livelihood.

Actually this is quite possible. If your posts have so many spelling errors and cannot be confirmed as text by most dictionaries, they could be mistaken for videos and judged to be posted in the wrong folder and therefore minus points. Haha.

Why don't just have a forum without points, infraction etc. Just a mod will do, to moderate the forum like all other forums. No quarrel then, no need to haggle over points and infraction like school kids.

Infraction game is designed for the senior members who are mature, knowledgeable and just enough to mete out punishments for wrongdoings. But, our situation was an exploit of the system for one's power and 'gain' instead. No one empire can mimic another successfully ? I trow not. :p

I think he can adjust with more effort to set it aright.

Most of your posts are crap. You use txt spk instead of proper English. If I have the time, I'll be writing a script to deduct points from you for every post you make that doesn't contain standard English spelling.

I am just amazed with your increase in points over a span of a week (just after the revamp)...there must be alot more PAPpies here than we think ...that's the only way we can account for the meteoric increase in your points. Or was there rigging?

Most of those with infractions powers used it as a political tool to silence opposing voices and settle feuds.

Got to cut the folks some slack as this is the way the PAP taught us in dealing with critics.

If someone has bought multiple InfP accounts, they can simply log on with each one in succession and add whatever they want to the remarks. In this case, MBBSSLOTS put his primary nick in the remarks column for every account.
