Former NSCS employees charged with criminal breach of trust

SINGAPORE: A former honorary secretary-general and two ex-employees of the National Safety Council of Singapore (NSCS) have been charged with multiple counts of criminal breach of trust.
Sia Chin Hwee, 58, is accused of dishonestly misappropriating funds amounting to more than S$815,000 belonging to the Traffic Police between 2007 and 2009.
He is said to have conspired with Saidon Hassan, 39, and David Kan Tuck Pui, 73, on multiple occasions.
Sia, now a cab driver, faces 21 charges.
Saidon faces 20 similar charges and the funds involved are said to be more than S$695,000.
Kan is accused of conspiring with the other two to misappropriate funds of more than S$286,000. He faces nine charges.
If convicted of criminal breach of trust or abetting this offence, they can be jailed up to seven years and fined on each count.
