2 lessons:The story is sad at the personal/humanitarian point of view.
It also show 2 things
-that the Women's Charter will get many men into financial difficulties and
is very unfair to men.It will contribute to more men looking to marry overseas
or marry foreign spouses.More S'pore ladies will end up old and unmarried .
-poor financial planning.
A person who was worth S$15 million at one time never have to end up like
this.He could have easily set aside say $1 million(6.6% of his wealth) to buy
an annuity that will pay him around $4,000 a month for life. He could also
have set aside some money to buy a nice house in a foreign country nearby .
Together with his annuity, he could be enjoying life and maybe playing golf
overseas instead of suffering in this little red dot.
1. Never "dedicate" your life to women.
2. Always be prudent and not aggressive or greedy where money is concerned.
