Really, is it the same level of irkness when they are forced to buy their next gen fighter from a former colony too?

that was not forced. Warthog was a UOR; F-35 was a choice.

Ok, that makes sense to me now. When the UK first took deliveries of 110 Warthogs they ordered from STK, they did not pass acceptance trials. As a result the whole induction into service with the UK was delayed by months. Apparently, the level of armour protection level claimed by STK was not what the UK discovered. At that time, I was surprised because the Brits had discovered their Vikings were no match for IEDs and other attacks in Astan and were desperately seeking a replacement for them. It was a very time sensitive issue as UK servicemen were getting killed in the Vikings every month that it was delayed. STK won the contract almost by default as they were the only game in town that could ramp up production. SO, was quite surprised to see UK delay acceptance of a vehicle they needed badly. But what you say makes sense if Diesenroth conned STK into accepting the vehicles with AL2O3 and claimed it was SiC. And when the British army tested it and found out it was not the level of protection claimed, they had to incorporate the actual SiC armour before it could be opeationally. Which means.................SAF personnel are riding around in a death trap!! Fucking STK and fucking scholar Generals who don't know ceramics armour if it was shoved up their asshole.

No wonder according to Leck, STK got no sales on the Bionix. Bionix is also using Mexas. If STK can misrepresent (or even worse, was ignorant) of the armour level on their own vehicles, what confidence do other countries have in a company that makes AFV that has never been combat tested, in a country that has never seen war, and lies to a large order customer (the UK Army) on the protection level of its one successfully selling vehicle?

How much was lost in these projects?

When I was in Armour, Patrick Choy was, if I recall properly 42 SAR CO, and then later 8 SAB Brigade commander under Colin. But he only got O levels mah. One of the last farmer BG. After that, all were scholars. So maybe he can be forgiven if his chem and physics not too good and so maybe EM values and RHA baseline against AL Oxide, SiC, and TiB2 is too chim for him? LOL.

huge losses but found its way into the many undeserved who got promoted and struck it rich when Bionix was launched (not nothing said abt successful or not..) and when Warthogs were sold to UK (again note that nothing is known abt retro or claims or compensations........). At the end of the day it is the slimely shits who were laffing their way to the banks....... most of them still fly first or biz class collecting frequent flyer points which are being used to send family members to super holidays. Cost of same ticket without ff is cheaper but invariably only ff tickets are purchased.......... dun know what internal auditor or AGO is doing!!

Colin Thesiera is ok lah, Yes, he got replaced by scholar generals as many senior officers in his generation. But he was a real armour officer. he was one of the original camels that went to Israel for training. That training was so siong that if you send one of these cambridge grad scholar officers to this course, they would have killed themselves in the Negev. Seriously. For that alone, he stands out and if he was cashiered out to some cushy GLC position, he earned it. Not like these scholar generals who went for a comfortable 4 year uni course overseas, then went for comfortable postings and got escalated up into the boards of GLCs or Parliament.

What is amazing is that pple like Dr R Kwok is passing off himself as an intellect of PhD caliber and a good engineer when he is clearly not! PhD from distant learning!!

His wife works in NUS library so it is not surprising that she trawled many theses for domestic use.......with one finding its way to university of southern cross via distant learning - amen. Many are shocked that subject like Program Mgmt od A Fighting Vehicle; and ISO 9000 xxxx can be PhD thesis!! Soon there will be a PhD thesis of " How to Suck Egg.."; the Art of Bluffology" may have merit, but sucking egg?

MBA from distant learning is already bad more stinko if it is PhD.
