SINGAPORE: A former accountant of a church has been jailed five years for misappropriating more than S$380,000 over one year.
56-year-old Lim Seng Hoo worked at the Norwegian Seamen's Mission Church Singapore and siphoned money using various methods.
He would issue cheques to himself first and then deposit the money into his own account or encash the cheques later.
He also used the cheques to make payments for his personal bills.
He then tried to cover his tracks by disguising the outflow of the cash as loans.
The court heard that no restitution has been made so far.
