Greeting to all SBF forummers... hope you all are doing fine.

I left Singapore since May '09 (Same month I've stop visiting SBF) working in London head office and now finally back from hectic schedule.

When I came back to office, to my horror, my office has been taken up by new so-called FT.

Top management called for meeting with me at 10 am, and explained what was planned during my absent.

I am shocked, a prepared resignation letter handed to me to sign. (LL and just sign it)

But I am surprised with another letter handed to sign if I agree, this letter contain new a employment contract terms and conditions (accomodation for spouse and childen is included) and I am posted to London office for 3 years, it is renewal contract and subjected to re-posting to other offices.

Straight to the point, I am given the opportunity to leave singapore for very long period. If there is a chance I dont wish to come back to singapore unless LKY - PAP dead.

I am schedule to sit in the new office on August 3, 2009. (Fuck with National Day)

This week, I am to hand over whatever it is to the new person (FT fucker), and friday is my last day in singapore office, this is to allow me to have more time to get prepare and packing for my "new" home (which I still dont know yet).

When times permit, I will still come back here for TKSS.
In the meantime, wish me luck in my new place and hope you too have the same opportunity someday.

In recent years, there have been a lot of jobs that require Singaporeans to relocate overseas. For those who contemplated to emigrate, I supposed this the best chance to try out & get paid. Killing two birds in one stone is the best option if you are sick of PAP ruining your life here.

No problem on that and I think it is great for Singaporeans to become FT elsewhere. And you are right, when we are overseas, we must think like the local and blend into their culture. I actually encourage Singaporeans to work overseas but as you say, they must blend into their culture with great sensitivity.

However, whether we like it or not, many of the locals will look upon "FT" as foreign intruders, just like many Singaporeans are beginning to dislike FT here. This is especially so when jobs become scarce with a contracting economy. This is further complicated by racial differences. It is a common social problems for any countries to have lax FT policy.

It will take a great personality to disarm such initial ill feelings in work place.
