Foo Mee Har to focus on constituency work

SINGAPORE - Member of Parliament Foo Mee Har (West Coast GRC) has resigned as the Global Head for Priority Banking and International Banking at Standard Chartered Bank, with plans to spend more time on constituency work.
Ms Foo, who was elected in the General Election last year, has been with the bank for 19 years.
Announcing her decision on Facebook yesterday, Ms Foo said she would be taking on a non-executive role at the bank.
Responding to media queries, Ms Foo said her new role in the bank would take up "significantly less" time than her executive role as a global head.
This would allow her more time to pursue other interests including several initiatives for her Ayer Rajah constituency, such as programmes for the elderly and low-income, as well as the upgrading of the community club.
She added: "I am considering opportunities that will draw on my corporate experience as well as my international experience while allowing me to fulfil my MP responsibilities."
