SINGAPORE- Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) said on Friday on its Facebook page that the casino there will be closed from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday.
The Marina Bay Sands casino will also be closed during the same period, "subject to regulatory approval," a spokesman said.
A post on the RWS Facebook page said this will be done as a mark of respect for Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Mr Lee's funeral service will be held on Sunday, with many foreign leaders expected to attend. The procession, which will cover a distance of 15.4km, will commence at 12.30pm

SINGAPORE- Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) said on Friday on its Facebook page that the casino there will be closed from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday.
The Marina Bay Sands casino will also be closed during the same period, "subject to regulatory approval," a spokesman said.

Before RWS announced the move, satire site New Nation wrote an article that said Singaporeans feel that the RWS and Marina Bay Sands casinos should be shut down on Sunday, to show respect to Mr Lee.*When asked, RWS said its decision was not influenced by the article. Singapore Pools announced on Thursday that all its branches, authorised retail outlets and Livewire venues will be closed on Sunday as a mark of respect for Mr Lee. Account services will also be unavailable, but a 4D draw will still be conducted at 6.30pm on Sunday, the operator said in a statement on Thursday. Normal operations will resume on March 30.

This after it was announced that all Singapore Pools branches, authorised retail outlets and Livewire venues will be closed on Sunday with vice put on hold.
One Singaporean, Kee Puah Keow, said he understands the rationale behind this gesture: “It was a difficult decision for Lee Kuan Yew to make and for him to even consider allowing casinos to operate in Singapore.”
“As we have seen so far, casinos have brought nothing but strive and debt to thousands of people and ruined countless of lives.”
“As a mark of respect, it is imperative for both Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa be shut down and have all their revenue for the day donated to charity.”
Another Singaporean, Mei Chu Xi, said the closing down of casinos would be something Lee Kuan Yew would have wanted if he really had his way: “Lee Kuan Yew was an industrious man who believed Singaporeans had to be rugged in order to survive. Casinos are antithetical to what he believed in as it left the fate of Man to the vagaries of chance.”
“To show that we love Lee Kuan Yew, both casinos need to be closed down or else it will sully his good name and show that Singapore is beholden to vice.”

If you find going to casino this Sunday then you don't go OK. Why need to condemn lw? Nobody force anybody to go casinos.
