According to mainland media such as Red Star News, Su Xiangmao founded Beijing Yaowei Technology Company in 2012 and launched the application "WePhone" with an estimated number of users of more than 10 million. However, the then 37-year-old committed suicide by jumping off a building on September 7, 2017, after leaving a last word that said, "The legal person of the company was killed by his poisonous wife Zhai Mouxin, and WePhone will cease operations."
Su Xiangmao stated in his suicide note that he and his ex-wife Zhai Xinxin met on a dating website in March 2017. In just three months, they received their marriage certificate on June 7, but the marriage only lasted 41 days before it broke down.
Su Xiangmao complained that he had spent millions of yuan on Zhai Xinxin before his marriage, but it was not until the day before he received the certificate that his "lying and scheming" ex-wife told him that he had been married. Moreover, Zhai Xinxin's attitude changed drastically after her marriage, and she even threatened to report him for tax evasion, gray operation of the company, etc., and blackmailed him for real estate in Hainan and 10 million yuan (approximately NT$44 million), causing Su Xiangmao's company's capital chain to break.

In 2018, Su Xiangmao's family filed a civil lawsuit against Zhai Xinxin in court, requesting the court to revoke Su Xiangmao's gift worth nearly 10 million yuan and requiring the other party to return nearly one million yuan in cash.
On March 31, 2023, the People's Court of Chaoyang District, Beijing ruled that Zhai Xinxin used coercion during the divorce process, causing Su Xiangmao to fear and make involuntary expressions of consent. Zhai Xinxin must return 6.6 million yuan (approximately NT$29 million) to Su Xiangmao’s family. In addition, the court also revoked Zhai Xinxin's personal ownership of the two properties in Hainan and Beijing.
