'The Simpsons' takes place in a town called Springfield, however, it is unknown as to which state the town is in. There has been much debate over the exact location of Springfield, but there are too many towns with the same name to be able to narrow it down.
The fictional town of Stars Hollow in 'Gilmore Girls' was actually built and filmed in California, but was designed based on the small Connecticut town.
