GEORGE TOWN: A 38-year-old security guard and his 65-year-old father were killed in a road accident in Jalan Masjid Negeri here after being run over by a lorry.
Noorashid Abdul Rahim and his father, Abdul Rahim Mohd Ismail who was riding pillion, were on the way back to their home in Taman Tun Sardon when the accident occurred at about 8am yesterday.
Both died on the spot. Noorashid's helmet was crushed in the incident.
A woman, believed to be Abdul Rahim's daughter, was heard shouting "Abah" (father) when she arrived at the scene.
She started screaming hysterically when she saw the two bodies in a pool of blood.
Several relatives, who rushed to the scene shortly after, also broke down at the sight of the bodies.
The 47-year-old lorry driver was unhurt.
Police said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
