Our spending 1/3 of our budget on military which comes to $10 to $11B - that alone is easily injecting lots of fund into ST Group.

ST does all armament purchase (standard 10 to 20% commission). Supply of logistics support, etc. I think easily 40% of that $10B flows back into ST Group coffers.

Life is not that simple. There are many things that need to be factored to make a level playing field.

Unlike MSCI Indices that was proudly displayed in parliament, component stocks don't have certain things like Temasek has. Let me give you 2 examples.

1) Periodic cash injections

2) Sale of assets once handed over to Temasek such as PUB etc

3) Free gifts like POSB to DBS.

If accounts were published similar to listed companies, asset stripping, extraordinary items, capital injection are all there to see.
