You probably heard about the old lady causing the blocking of 3 lanes of Orchard Rd and yesterday about the same lady to face criminal charges including criminal trespass.
Here is the gist. She is ex-PAP Heng Chiang Meng wife. This is the same arsehole PAP MP that was the hired gun of Ng Teng Fong and the property lobby who abused his MP's position to look after the Property lobby and supported by none other than Kwa Kim Li of Lee & Lee and the niece of Old man's wife. GCT when he was PM could not control him and finally released his letter to the press in which he warned him not to abuse his position as MP. With the cat out of the bag, the Lees, Ng Teng Fong and the property lobby relented and he finally stepped down from Redas and Far East Group.
Now the case of the wife. The American neighbour who had become a Singaporean called the Police when she entered their house and took away the keys to a cherry picker where a worker on the gondola was trimming overhanging branches. She refused to return the key and left. The Police called the SCDF to lift the stranded worker from the gondola after an hour. The Police as usual treated it as a private matter and told them to seek civil action. The American got PAP MP Chris De Souza to sue. American realised that it will take another PAP MP and the Lee & lee law firm to handle members of the elite. They won. She appealed using SC Francis Xavier. The leave for appeal was however turned down by the High Court Judge. Then the Ferrari matter after couple of months.
The American made helluva noise about the Govt unable to handle one ex-MPs wife. Chris jumped in as well. Guess what? The cabinet heard the noise. The Police are now charging her for all these things. The irony is that she already lost in the civil suit for same set of offences and asked to pay compensation except for the Ferrari incident.
In a surprising move, AG was told to apply to seize her passport to avoid further embarrassment. These are minor charges in the main, she is Singaporean and they have wealth over $100m in Singapore and passports are never impounded in such cases.
Sadly it took an Ang Mo to get justice. By the way, there is a whole host of complaints over the years and ignored by the authorise. It was also not the first time that she has used her car to create a public nuisance.
By the way, the entire legal fraternity of repute have turned down the brief. She is now in the hands of well known conman Irving Choh who is defending Yang Yin and also the solider who died. Despite their enormous wealth, no SC is prepared to come forward.
