Foreigners are a great source of votes for the PAP. That is the truth behind their policy.

I forsee a future sinkeepore with 2 sinkee classes - the very rich and connected, and the very downtrodden sinkees. The middle class will have long immigrated, replaced by a transient middle class of foreigners, all grateful to the PAP for giving them this new home.

Then after 1-2 generations, the children of these immigrants become unhappy with PAP's ways, just like today's younger locals, children of the original immigrants. They leave, and then are replaced by a new middle class.
