Heedless pursuit of “pure” medicine to prolong life, without regard to cost or the wishes of the patients, cannot be sustained in the long term, not even in the wealthiest countries...."

- Lim Hng Kiang, regretting the decision to save a baby's life because KKH ran up a $300,000 bill.
