sure some of you have already read yersterday's TODAY papers regarding this...some depressive thoughts:
(1.) What positions are entry level superscale in the Civil Service? Are they professionals in any sense?
(2.) Why would anyone pay so much to another to be an "administrator" at the micro level? (The analogy of ministers being paid high to avoid corruption does have some truths depending on your working environment...) I definitely would not pay an employee $30K a month to somebody else to make "decisions" and pencil push...
(3.) Since our ministries are always looking for fresh grads with honours or masters, does it mean they will be paid SS salary at certain points in their careers?
(4.) How many SS pay receivers are there currently?
(5.) Comparison: A entry level registrar or associate consultant is drawing about $13K per month, and he has to do a 12 day block (straight days without off) once every month... a nurse work 6 days a week and a senior staff nurse draws about $3.2K per month...what is the SS job description?
(6.) Assuming 100 SS receivers, and each were to contribute $50K back to society, this 5 million can be put to good use, esp to help the needy...
(7.) So to all Singaporeans out there...stop thinking such issues has nothing to with you..start planning now for yourself and your children...
