England have slipped to fifth in the latest Fifa ranking after drawing 1-1 at home to Ukraine in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on September 10. Roy Hodgson's side were in third position in the global ranking last month.

Reigning World and European champions Spain unsurprisingly stay top of the rankings, with Germany and Portugal respectively sitting second and third.

Argentina complete the top five after climbing three positions to fourth spot.

Meanwhile, Colombia (ninth, up 13) have moved back into the top 10 for the first time since July 2002, thanks to their victories over Chile (3-1) and South American champions Uruguay (4-0).

Euro 2004 champions Greece have just made the top 10, climbing above Croatia in doing so.

Furthermore, 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil now have to settle for 14th spot in the ranking as they were usurped by Russia and France.

Cote d'Ivoire remain Africa's highest placed team in 16th place, while Japan are Asia's top dogs as the number 23.
