國民黨總統參選人韓國瑜今（19）晚出席台南立委聯合競總成立大會，與國民黨主席吳敦義、前總統馬英九合體同台。不過就在離場時，突遭不明人士丟雞蛋攻擊，現場群眾隨扈、護衛隊身上都沾到蛋液，韓國瑜隨即迅速搭車離開現場。對此，韓國瑜競選辦公室表示，這正是台灣民主自由價值的可貴之處，希望警方不要追究砸雞蛋的民眾。

針對在台南造勢晚會遭到民眾丟雞蛋，韓國瑜競選辦公室表示，韓國瑜本人並沒有被砸到，但有一位民眾與一名隨扈被砸中，韓市長也向兩位無端遭到波及表示抱歉。
韓競辦指出，韓國瑜認為，每個人都有發表不同意見的權利，這正是台灣民主自由價值的可貴之處。如果今天是在獨裁國家，民眾是不可能像這樣表達自我意見。因此韓國瑜「希望警方不要追究砸雞蛋的民眾」，同時也向警方表達自己的感謝之意，謝謝警察們，辛苦了！
而對於此事，民進黨中央也做出回應，強調嚴厲譴責任何以暴力形式表達訴求的行動，請警方究查責任，保護所有人人身安全。民進黨呼籲國人保持冷靜理性心情，共同維護選舉品質，也要特別要求、提醒黨員務必堅持民主精神，遵守所有法令，不得違背
