Effective Management of FT... Lessons from the GCC

SG should learn from GCC countries like UAE & Oman:

1. FT are only allowed to work & live in the country with no privileges, concessions or subsidies.
2. Mandatory job priority to the locals.
3. Most companies must maintain a ratio of 1:4 of FT to locals in their payroll.
4. FT can never be PR or citizen.

I can guarantee that if today SG take away all the privileges from FT like in the GCC, the FT will still come and work in SG because that is what they are here for.

There are no disrespect of foreigners. We are workers in a foreign land & we have all the rights appropriated according to our status. Their policies are to ensure the rights of their citizens & I respect that.

FTs to the Holy Lands of milk and honey are paid a multiple of what they could get in SG. How then can our GLCs and SMEs continue to be obscenely profitable?

Do you mean private companies operating in GCC are not profitable? Look at how vibrant the economy of Dubai is? Capitalism will always be wherever you are. And it is a misconception that we who work in GCC are earning astronomical pay checks.
