MORE than 320 foreign-trained lawyers have applied to the National University of Singapore (NUS) to attend a course under a new scheme by the Law Ministry that speeds up entry for them to practise law here.

In the past, law graduates who returned to Singapore from foreign universities could practise law only after completing the Diploma in Singapore Law course which takes a year.

The change allows law graduates who studied overseas and have at least two years of recognised legal experience to be called to the Bar, after passing what is known as Part A of the Bar examination.

I didn't detect any tone of complaint in both Vijayan's report and Metalslug's relay. Lighten up pal, not everybody's complaining. Sharing info is a good thing and it's what forums are for.
