Two men were charged in court on Monday with the murder of a 20-year-old at Central Square carpark last Saturday.

Lee Boon Leong, 22, and Desmond Neo Han Wen, 24, are alleged to have been part of an unlawful assembly with three others when one of more of them murdered Mr Chen ZI Quan between 6.08am and 6.14am at Havelock Road.

No plea was taken. Both were remanded at Central police division lock-up for further investigation.

Their next mention date is Dec 12. If convicted of murder, they face the mandatory death penalty.

Thanks bro, dunno why teens are so prompt to violent nowadays. By doing all these, does that makes them a real Man? I call that stupid.

You will be surprised some adults think and behave in the same way. Some even in their 40s. I know a headman who said his 'real brothers' must be ex-55 chaps otherwise not 'real brothers' and this idiot is into his late 40s.

Haha. All these 55 fellas must be well paid by the headman. Extraordinary " talent" ya.

Not the case. Many came out after 3-6 years and realised no one to take care of them financially after one night of KTV and tarma in Geylang. Few succeed.

Second of four men who caused NSman's death jailed

Posted: 14 September 2012 1537 hrs

SINGAPORE: The second of four men accused of causing grievous hurt to a full-time national serviceman, who later died, has been sentenced to seven months' jail.

23-year-old Lee Boon Leong had punched the 21-year-old victim, Chen Zixuan, after a night of merry-making on December 3 2011.

Lee was with three friends - 24-year-old Desmond Neo Han Wen, 28-year-old Poh Chong Heng and 23-year-old Marcus Lee Han Wei - at the time of the offence.

The four men were headed for supper at Central Square at Havelock Road, shortly after 6am that day.

At the same time, another group comprising of the deceased, 24-year-old Matthew Li, 21-year-old Darren Matthias Chan and 21-year-old Andrea Lim Mei Chen blocked the path of the car Lee was in.

A fight broke out and Lee's group threw punches and kicked Chen, Li and Chan.

But the fight stopped after Chen said he dislocated his thumb.

At about the same time, an unidentified accomplice of Lee who is still at large, came to the scene and a second fight broke out.

Chen suffered a heavy punch to his face and collapsed to the ground.

While he managed to get home, Chen later died of his injuries.

Neo was the first to be dealt with in this case.

He was sentenced to seven months' jail in August 2012.
