Seems like a lot of focus on LKY not meeting Mahatir coz the crazy guy snubbed him. This is an official state visit by a representative from SG to MY, does it make any sense to visit a senile old man who isnt involve in the country's parliamentary system, doesnt officially hold any power in his respective political party and isnt a Business leader. If we see it that way, there isn't really a point of having our leaders visit him. Is LKY holding any power in his political party (PAP), no he is not. I believe he has given up his executive positions in the PAP to Gay Loong and Cunt Stink.

Is LKY a businessman? I don't believe so. His wife is more the businessperson than he is. He obviously has real estate investments and what not, but certainly not an active business man running a large company or anything like that.

Please get your facts right, he is currently an MP of the Tanjong Pagar GRC. He is also holding the appointment of Minister Mentor in Parliament!!!! Minister Mentor is an official cabinet appointment both of which are valid enough reason for the local government to send him on an official visit to another nation as the representative of the nation. Even if the post of MM is totally useless it is still an official appointment. Dun let your hatred for that guy blind you to facts.

Come on smart ass. LKY is the MM of Singapore. Mahathir is now a citizen of malaysia. He was and I repeat "was" PM of Malaysia once but no more. What is the big deal of appearing before the joint congress? So did LKY. Malaysia is probably the most important "foreigners". Singaporeans should visit them and understand them more.

Share your sentiments "disappointed". I've not been to Singapore for the last 15 years. Last year i went i am amazed to see the society as you mentioned. I had the opportunity to walk from hell into heaven when i crossed the border from Msia in Singapore. All that you mentioned can never be achieved in a society like Msia with leaders of such mentality. Some Msians just can't bear with the fact that their neighboring country is better than they are. I just hope Penang can learn and immitate the successful traits of Singapore. At least we have some good leaders to start with and hopefully eradicating the remaining rubbish leadership from Be_End.
