That's because these young morons have been feeding on propaganda from the internet and have never heard of his more famous exploits.

• After being sacked by NUS, went on a hunger strike in protest despite Chiam See Tong(then SDP leader) disallowing it. Found out later that the "water" he drunk during his "hunger strike" was actually glucose
• Managed to force Chiam See Tong out of SDP when Chiam tried to take action against him for his hunger strike. Chiam later sued SDP for $150K and won
• After taking over from Chiam he started traveling abroad to promote his idea of democracy to foreign media(translation talk bad about the country to Ang Mohs), it was during that time that he got his nickname Minister in Australia for spending more time flaming the country in other countries then actively doing some good back home
• SDP during Chiam's leadership was the strongest political party in SG with 3 seats in Parliament. After Chiam left, they got 0 in the following election
• Chase after then Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong on a lorry with a loudhailer
• Started his campaign of civil disobedience, urging the country to follow his crazy protest all over the place. Was arrested for protesting outside the Istana without a permit
• Was made bankrupt for accusing Goh Chok Tong of loaning 18 billion to Suharto
• Was sued again by the LKY for accusing the government of being involved in the NKF scandal
• During the summary judgement to assess the damages he was suppose to pay LKY, he wasted his time asking irrelevant political questions. It got so stupid that even the judge had to ask him to start defending himself.
• During his jail term, he accused the police of trying to poison him
• Just as back in 2006, he is unable to take part in this year's election as he is still a bankrupt
• No more then a handful of idiots ever bothered to appear for his events. The gay protest last year generated a larger crowd then all of Chee's stupid protest, COMBINED!!!

Dr Chee's more westernized brand of democracy should be well received by the younger set.
Recently he has also toned down and coupled with SDP's ability to field very good candidates, the older voters who had dismissed him previously are also giving him and the party a consideration.
This is a good development.
