Serious Down Memory Lane - a Sam Special

Greetings to Sam and All, it has been a while and wish all the very best of health.

Here is something I posted some years back. And it still holds true and hence the repost - I have not come across a single Admin/Mod like Sam in Singapore or elsewhere. Most unusual for someone raised and schooled in Singapore where we learn by rote, do not deviate and do not question.

"I remember within the first month or two of starting up the kopitiam in Delphi, one prick posted a porn photo. Sam told him that Delphi will make the noise and shut down the site. The guy refused. I thought Sam was going to ban him. Instead Sam kept appealing to the guy repeatedly and others joined as well. I thought it was bit odd for a mod/admin/owner to spend time explaining to that extent.

I was at that time more interested about the bullshit and falsehood about dual citizenship, people going to jail, if you are born Singaporean and you left at 2 years old to Australia, you were required to come back etc. I could not believe how the press and rumour mills were misleading people. I kept reading until I picked up the courage to post. One hand placed on the faith that Sam would not screw me and the other on getting the right information across.

It proved the right decision. Sam also became a strong advocate on running businesses for those who were keen to migrate and run a business in Canada and Oz. I remember one chap who was a hairdresser here and went over to Melbourne. And there was dozens others. One lady posted that her business in Bukit Timah was not doing well and was keen to migrate. She asked all the right questions and could see that she also did her research as well. For her diligence, one of the forum members offered to be her sponsor and she migrated with her family. It was so good to hear all these good stories. Those years you would spend your week getting lessons on running a business and proper English from Sam. The difference between advice and advise would be posted weekly.

And the journalists began sending PM to members."
Surely the stupid getting killed has always been how nature worked? Crush all with tanks. Let them commit suicide.
