Once again, after the LHL slapping comment, SM Goh has another contradicting comment. This time, it is none other than for TPL. She was mentioned to have seen a trauma specialist, Fatimah. Later SM Goh clarified it was meant as a tongue-in cheek comment. Such comments arising from a senior cabinet minister is worrying. They are remunerated $3m annually to be leaders. They are benchmark among the top earners in Singapore. Yet, there is no one incident where these top earners make such comments.
In fact, it is only fair to expect our well-paid leaders to give meaningful comments. The better leaders are supposed to guide the juniors in giving better comments. If SM Goh is the PAP’s standard, it is little surprised TPL has also many comment gaffes (eg .she mentioned that the education cost in Singapore is low) . It is little surprise that Mrs Goh made comments like”…it is just peanuts…” Comments from any minister are reflective of their thoughts and the seriousness in the political arena. They must have the acumen to know when to joke and when not to. If they do not know when to be serious, then it is worrying. SM Goh is not just another MP, he is not even an ordinary minister, he is our SENIOR Minister.
SM Goh has shown to have lapse in his visions and comments. He mooted the World Cup 2010 vision where the Singapore Soccer team is supposed to enter the World Cup at 2010. The only thing noted in recently was that the Singapore Soccer team failed at the Asean Cup quest and was disbanded.
SM Goh wanted to make Singapore the Switzerland of the East. Singapore has now attained the Switzerland in terms of cost of living, but has our standard of living reached Switzerland? Singapore has more Foreign Talents compared to Switzerland though. Any residents in Marine Parade can come up visions that failed and bad comments. As such, residents in Marine Parade has to calmly weigh if this is what they want the MP to be. Being well like is only one of the many criteria. He is not just a normal MP, but one who is supposed to have been though the tour of being PM.
Do the residents want to pay $3m annually for a SM to come up with visions and tongue-in cheek comments? Think Calmly.
This is not a tongue-in cheek comment.
