Do you think Singapore will go into lockdown soon?

With the number of daily reported cases rising, I don't see how we can avoid going into a lockdown. Unless we decide to let nature takes it course, hopefully with minimal casualties, and those who survive will gain immunity.

Probably the latter.

I doubt it because the government has it well under control. The rise has been linear and is still in the 3 digit range since the first case was reported.

How the case numbers rise is more important than the cumulative figure.

Yes, soon to be lockdown. Please go buy more toilet paper and stock up whatever you can stock up. Make sure you fill up your storeroom with lots of foodstuff too. Better have something to eat than nothing at all.

Sorry. I don't hoard.

There will not be extreme measure eg full lockdown and Red alert level.
As this measure very bad to Singapore economy.

KNN my uncle think it will not be a total lockdown for sg due to economy /face matter KNN rikely by mid next mth school will close while ica side still allowing importing KNN

This week another 500 cases, so averaging 70 to 80 new cases per day this week. By week of Monday 6 April, no lockdown also not many people dare to go out.

As long as the daily increase in cases keeps within double digits Singapore will be fine. It will show that the PAP is doing an excellent job. The cumulative number is not as significant as the rate of spread.

800 cases still no lockdown.....it's obvious the outbreak is here already lol....

@nayr69sg Singapore is supposed to have one of the best educated populations in the entire world, a higher average IQ plus a strong emphasis on science and maths.

Why then are there so many people who do not understand the maths behind the virus spread?

Yes the outbreak arrived a few weeks ago but the active tracing and quarantines have kept a lid on the rampant spread so the rise is not exponential it is linear.

That's because they are not really educated.

They are just trained like monkeys to do exam questions and ace them.

When it comes to applying knowledge to real life practical problems they blur.

Seriously.

These people study things like calculus. Dy/dx. Integration. Imaginary numbers. For exam questions only.

U know if Singapore was the only country with Wuhan and no other countries have it....I think PAP will just tell us to brave through it and embrace it.....Singapore will never shut down lmao.

Look at how reluctant bthey are to do anything to affect their precious economy the last ten years to the point they rather throw sinkies under the bus...

Even China ordered a lockdown when their virus cases reached 300.

Yeah all thanks to PAP's ingenious efforts, while the rest of the world even USA succumbed to the virus like some Ebola outbreak....

I think it's only by some grace of God or our climate or something we are not experiencing something like Italy or south Korea.

Must be sg must be too hot from all the overcrowding and cars and air-conditioning.

Also idiot it's clearly exponential,as u can see the numbers are starting to get bigger and bigger.....just that for some reason Singapore Corona virus just happen to have a slower initial growth rate compared to the rest of the world.....slower incubation......

It's alright 800 now, next week will be 2000,fk I still haven't stock up on shyt yet.....all those idiots that listen to the govt are going to be screwed.

The numbers are getting bigger of course and that's because the virus is being transmitted from one person to another.

To test whether it is exponential all you have to do is to compare with what numbers you'd get if you used the equation

"xt" refers to the total number of cases, "xo" the number of index cases or the number of base cases upon which the parameters are based, "r" the rate of disease transmission (the number of people infected by each prior case), and "t" the number of incubation time intervals during the course of an epidemic.

Work it out yourself and you'll realise just what a good job the PAP is doing.
