Revamp for NS magazine
SOME 155,000 national servicemen from the police and civil defence forces can look forward to a revamped magazine giving health and investment tips, reviews of dining outlets, and facilities they can use.
The revamp and improved design of the magazine HomeTeamNS was unveiled at a signing ceremony on Thursday with SPH Magazines, which has won a new three-year contract to produce it.
SPH has been publishing the magazine, which is delivered to the homes of members once every two months, for the past 10 years since 1999, when it was called Res-Q.
HomeTeamNS' PR and Publicity Committee chairman Jackson Lim said that 'communication with our members and supporters is vital for the success and continued growth of the association.'
Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee, Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs, who was present at the ceremony said 'reaching out to our NSmen is key'.
He called on the HomeTeamNS association and SPH Magazines to 'do more' to keep the sense of identity and the 'bridge' between the association and NSmen strong.
