A WOMAN who had a dispute with another motorist over a parking incident was yesterday fined $1,000 for fighting.
Housewife Tay Kim Suan, 41, admitted to disturbing the public peace by fighting with retiree Lee Kum Chuen, 59, at the carpark of Block 107 Yishun Ring Road on Sept 4 last year.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Ruth Wong told the court that Lee was about to reverse into a parking space at the carpark that evening when Tay drove her car and stopped close to Lee’s, preventing him from reversing.

Lee got out of the car and went up to Tay's vehicle.
He opened the front passenger door and asked Tay to reverse her car.
A dispute broke out, and he then closed her car door hard and walked back to his car.
Tay got out of her car and used both fists to punch him on his face. He raised his arms to ward off the blows but she continued to punch him.
He retaliated and hit her back on the face. She fell, picked herself up and tried to attack him again but he retreated to the side of his vehicle.
She then called the police.
Her lawyer, Mr Subhas Anandan, said the co-accused provoked the incident by going to his client's car, scolding her and banging her car door.
But DPP Wong told District Judge Roy Neighbour that Tay was the aggressor and had struck the first blow. Hence, her sentence should be higher than Lee's fine of $100.
Tay could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined up to $5,000.
