Although US and Spore political system r different, the basic fundamentals r the same. Winners win and losers lose. The opposition states will be worse off than the states that voted for the winning party be it president, senate or Rep or governors. It's quite simple, if the State governor, senators or Rep r same party as the Pres, easier to get the things they want. So don't understand why Americans want to vote for the weaker party.
