Do news of sudden death affect your views on life?

alive today and gone tomorrow.. news such as the Tg pagar accident, the tree fell on the jogger... I tend to ask if i should plan so much for the future coz you don't know when you will be suay and god take away your IC.. TG pagar you can say bad decision, but the jogger definitely is unforeseen... what do you guys think?

Those 5 guys knew what was coming. It comes with a risk. They took their chances and it did not go their way.
I did just like those guys did when i was younger. Drive way too fast on the highway in heavy traffic, in between lanes, squeeze between two moving cars. Just because a bm flashed his light at my lancia. By the time i got off the highway, i was shivering. Stupid move. Should have just let the bm get his way instead of racing him. Want to race, never do it on public road. I could have killed some innocents. Now i drive suv's or truck so no urge to race. Its fast enough.

The event will come to us some day. No one can escape it... but in the case of TG Pagar car accident, why rush to make it happen sooner than you wish. For the jogger, it is unfortunate accident. Can she have prevented it ? Well, if she had not used the headphones and shut out all the surrounding noise , she might have avoided it.

We are living in an age of uncertainty. Covid 19 pandemic brings out this unpredictability vividly. We see people passed on unexpectedly . Death can hit us out of the blue ... and so, we need to be prudent and control the things that are within our control and trust the One up there for those things that are beyond our control. Trust with knowledge is important in life... otherwise , you would never want to go out, take a plane or drive a car any more.

Most of us did the same as you during our younger days especially when we first obtained our driving or bike license. That deadly thrill of speed. Of course all of us mellowed down as we get older seeing some of our friends succumbed to deadly accidents on the roads. As for me, two of my friends up lorry after their big bikes met with accidents.

I remember an ex colleague offering me a cig when on a barge on the way back to Singapore after a job trip at Indonesia. We chatted about life, about luck when buying lotteries. 2 weeks later he had a massive heart attack while doing maintenance works on a tugboat and died. Life is really unpredictable.

It's wise to think and investigate on such matters while we are still alive.

Just like I know of friends same age or younger that passed away .. it makes me wonder knn stress so much for wat, plan so much for wat... but hor. live like no tomorrow sekali long live, bo lui also headache

I think it's better to die having a clear conscience knowing that you departed from this life without your friends or relatives cursing you when you're gone. I know of a childhood friend who betrayed others including me. He up lorry without paying off his debts. In the end, even after he's dead, creditors still pester his old parents, sister and bro in law for his past debts. His Lau Peh should have used a condom when penetrating his mom 40 years ago. Lau Peh didn't use one so came out a scumbag son who gave his family many problems because of his debts.
