Die Die Must Say campaign to encourage "die-logues" about death
The Lien Foundation and Ang Chin Moh Foundation have launched a campaign called "Die Die Must Say".
The campaign aims to encourage a discussion about death and end-of-life issues, especially among older Chinese Singaporeans.
It's may not be socially acceptable for them to talk about death,
but a study has shown 90% of them want to have a national discussion about it, and only one in four is aware of hospice palliative care.
So the organisers have chosen Getai to get the message across.
There will be 5 Getai shows from this Sunday to the 10th of June, hosted by veterans Wang Lei and Lin Ruping.
To lighten up the dark topic, there will be also be a catchy theme song with a Hokkien rap.
Those who want to learn more about end-of-life matters can tune in to weekly radio talk shows on MediaCorp radio station Capital 95.8.
There is also a Mandarin hotline run by Care Corner Counselling Centre, to answer questions and offer advice on how to broach the subject.
