White brightens up my modern home

white_brightens_up_my_modern_home-thumbnail.jpg

STOMPer Eric and his wife yearned for a simple and modern home that could exude a sense of cleanliness and brightness. Hence, they made sure that their house was simple to manage and chose a white theme for it.

The couple is extremely pleased with the end results and wish to share with others pictures of their glorious Tampines flat.

Especially proud of his TV console and bedrooms, STOMPer Eric says:

"My wife and I move into this house on December 7, 2008.

"We had two open house parties for our relatives, friends and colleagues. All were impressed with our house deco and complimented it.

"Some of our friends said that we should get a magazine or newspaper to feature it.

"Therefore, We decided to share our home design with all readers.

"We told the designers we wanted a simple and neat look that was modern and white because we thought this could make the house look brighter and cleaner.

"We also made sure that it was a house which would be simple to maintain.

"My favourite areas are the bedroom and TV console. The TV console is special because it divides out dining and living rooms. However, we can turn the console around so we can watch the television from either room.

"My wife's favourite is the wallpaper because she chose it by herself. It gives off a very special ambience when the ceiling lights are turned on and white light bounces off it.

Balinese resort with a modern touch in the Pasir Ris heartlands

balinese_resort_with_a_modern_touch_in_the_heartlands-thumbnail.jpg

This lovely home belonging to Ivor and his wife, Regina, was modeled after the famous Banyan Tree resorts with a tinge of contemporary design.

The couple, who have two primary school children say that they love their cosy executive apartment in Pasir Ris and will not let it go unless someone offers a very high price for it.

In an email, STOMPer Ivor says:

“It is extremely spacious and beautiful. We designed it for practical living yet included the luxurious feel of a six-star hotel.

“My decor theme is modern resort. We like the Banyan Tree look as well as the modern contemporary style so we used a mixture of dark wood laminated platform and marble for our flooring.

“Our toilets are mainly finished in glass and mirror.

“My favourite corner is our living and dining room. It's cosy as our house is fully air-conditioned. We spend most of our time here bonding with our children over movies and games.

“We do have a huge dining room where we wine and dine with family and friends as a favourite past time.

“I'm most proud of our lovely master bedroom. It's fully wall-papered and furnished like a presidential suite. Nothing feels better than a well-rested sleep after a long day.

“Cost of home: $400,000
Cost of renovation: $75,000
Cost of furnishing: $25,000
Estimated value: $500,000

“I won’t sell my apartment unless someone makes an offer we simply cannot resist.”

They also have a fantastic view of the entire estate which overlooks five swimming pools in La Casa. "I feel like a superstar in my new home!" She says.

Rena Tan says:

"My hubby and I have just moved into our new apartment at the executive condominium La Casa about 10 months ago.

"We have finally settled in - and are absolutely loving our new home!

"This is a picture of our favourite space - the 'Billy Bombers' inspired dining corner with our little bar counter at the side.

"This is an awesome area for me and my hubby to chill out as we can enjoy a simple meal with a nice glass of wine, and watch TV at the same time.

"Friends and families have been thrilled by the little surprises we have put up around the house.

"We have worked in an 'entertainment' theme that includes a gaming, movie and entertainment corner where there is a large Frostmourne replica sword from the World of Warcraft game!

A balcony that is one step away from the pool

a_balcony_that_is_one_step_away_from_the_pool-thumbnail

This Telok Kurau apartment is STOMPer Simon's home, and what makes it unique is the swimming pool right at his doorstep. He says:

"I moved to this Telok Kurau apartment a year ago.

"Just did up the balcony so I thought of sharing this with STOMPers.

"There are only about 30 units here, so I suppose it's considered a boutique condominium.

"I live on the ground floor and it gives me a more spacious feeling, almost like living in a landed property.

"There's a pool right outside my balcony, and no, it doesn't feel awkward to have other residents swimming right at my doorstep. If anything, I feel the proximity makes my place unique.

"We are a close-knitted community, and I have two kids myself, so it's really enjoyable when I see all the kids running around having fun, and the adults chatting and relaxing."

Windy Strathmore apartment is all about modern living

windy_strathmore_apartment_is_all_about_modern_living-thumbnail

Mrs Lee says her HDB four-room flat at Forfar Heights at Strathmore Avenue is all about modern living and sent a picture of her lovely home.

"My apartment is a HDB four-room flat, 90 square metres. It is located at Forfar Heights of Strathmore Avenue.

"The concept of the design is based on modern living.

"As for the amount of money spent on the furnishing, it approximately costs about $40,000.

"In addition, renovations which cost about $50,000 were also carried out.
"We are proud of our house because of our cozy 'L'- shape dining table with clear mirror.

"We are also proud of our kitchen which has a solid surface that acts as a bar counter which is used to serve our guests.

"As it is on a high floor, our apartment is also very windy all year round."
