Flash floods hit Singapore today when it rained heavily in the wee hours of the morning and the upper deck of one bus service 161 was not spared either, says a STOMPer.

The sender, who boarded the bus at 11:55am, was shocked when he saw that the upper-deck had its own drainage problems as a large puddle had formed on the floor.

Perhaps it is time the authorities look into how adequately equipped our transport facilities are, he says.

The STOMPer says:

"Took 161 today at around 11.55 a.m.

"Shocked to see that not only our roads are not spared of floods, even the second storey of the bus is flooded as well!

"Our transportation system is touted as 'world-class' and fares have been rising over the years.

"However all it took was a heavy downpour to see the faults in our facilities".

Those indispensable superstars will claim that the fare hike was to accomodate the fact that buses will also have to act as boats.
