Chitchat Delusional blogger says WP will win big in GE 2020! Schizo!

Firstly when we vote in a GRC, we are voting for the entire team collectively as printed in the voting slip. Thus it erroneous to attribute the score in any particular ward to a particular factor.

Secondly this was just a rumour reported by ST. . There wasn't any data to prove that it the case.

Thirdly decline of wp votes in AJ GRC (and csm ward) is part of national swing as I explained in my previous post.

Denial is the longest river in Egypt. Tow council problems cast shadows over the ability of opposition to manage the country if they can't even run a tow council properly. WP been doing for years still have problem let alone other no seaters. This proof PAP is the best, else you hear complains why they never do thing properly or award contracts to their friends and grassroots members.

The PM made the comment even though he signed the confidentiality clause. Secondly Chen responded in an ambiguous manner albeit it is understandable to some extent he did not want to break the law.

My very post in this thread mentioned that WP retained all seats from 2011 which is very commendable in what was a massive turnaround by the PAP plus pioneer package bribes.

The next GE does not look good after the attempted coup and the fact that WP is suing for the overcharging by its own agent. With Sylvia out, and unless they bring in some good candidates it does not look encouraging. They will be lucky to hold the seats except for Hougang. Look at the rock solid 2 decades of support that PP showed that evaporated once Chiam moved.

The by-election strategy has been countered with NSP aiming to contest seats that have no hope in hell. There has been no walk-overs for the last 2 GE. Look at NSP's role in splitting votes to protect the PAP candidate in Macpherson. Imagine Singaporeans the blur fucks they are cannot even figure out why a group of "businessmen and artists" who work in China turn up dutifully for every elections to contest. Then vanish again. Notice why their new candidates leave the party soon after. And it has been led all these years by someone convicted for corruption while working for the govt, a fact the press did not disclose for decades despite they carrying his conviction in the press when it happenned.

Their number 2 who killed himself was known to be an informant, and was involved in various political forums invluding think tank.

Absolutely spot on! Don't forget NSP once had a world famous economist who based himself in HK.

Mati lah. Now downsize rightsize time will come when his stipend will get cut too. How to survive you tell me? Only left suicide like his predecessor.

bleak future for weak opposition. always been like that. good or bad times, the majority will vote for PAP. only a big PAP corruption scandal at the top will significantly shake PAP and cause a huge swing of votes to the opposition, that's still a maybe.

The future is bleak for little parties in matured democracies. Most voters will vote along party lines for the biggest two or three parties. In countries like Singapore and Malaysia, there's only one main party like UMNO and PAP. Most voters will stick to the main party. Oppie parties like SDP and WP may win a ward here and there, but they will never get into power.

It is ok that WP never get into power if WP can win 7 or 8 seats next GE ...

1 GRC and 2 SMCs

Or

1 GRC and 3 SMCs

That will be great :D

Believing that there is opp partires in sg is a delusion.

Why would anyone with real talent want to join some second rate party that has no real chance of ever forming the government? The best talents would automatically flock to PAP because the PAP is the only party that has the ability to steer the direction of the country. The second and third rate talents would join the oppies, and have to be contend with making limited changes at the municipal level subjected to approval from the PAP grassroots advisor.

Most sinkies vote rationally. They would rather spoil their vote than vote for an incompetent oppie. Sinkies demand a lot more from their candidates than the average voter anywhere else in the world.

Nonsense. Why would the best talents join politics in the first place? Only retired generals, retired journalists aka spies, second rate lawyers, restless doctors and other cannot-make-its are eager to hop into the PAP gravy train. Decent well-to-do professionals from established families do not need to join in this charade.

Even if PAP can only attract retired generals, second rate lawyers etc, they are still more competent than the people the oppies attract into their ranks. A cannot-make-it PAP member is still far better than a cannot-make-it oppie. Vast majority of people naturally join the winning party and reject perennial losers.

This is an example of a cannot-make-it oppie. Even a losing PAP candidate like fatty chua in the losing Aljunied team seems more credible.

It is irrelevant to compare the worst of both sides who are not elected. What should interest us are the strongest losers and weakest winners on both sides. That is where the scales may tip either way.

Thankfully the PAP can afford to outspend with public funds, have an abundance of salaried volunteers on top of overwhelming the WP with bureaucraric red tape regarding the management of town councils.

See, that is the problem with PAP. If they were as diligent in enforcing the regulations they written on immigration and manpower, they will not have to worry about silencing dissent from disillusioned adolescents facing the bleak prospects of lifetime poverty.

That is not the problem with PAP.

What you mentioned is the problem with the current democratic system. The main existing parties have a much stronger brand name, they have far more money, media coverage and grassroots support at their disposal as compared to the smaller parties. The problem you mentioned is not unique to Singapore. It is the same problem in democracies in places like UK, Malaysia, USA, Australia, Germany, Japan, etc.

WP has many real talents and grounded MP that served the residents well.

Singaporeans also understand that the power now rest with the ruling party and by voting for WP will return the power to the people.

Don't be silly. More seats also they have no power. Worse is some is more blur than the PAP. That an opinion shared by JohnTan too.

Why have elections? It so that people have say in where country going. If people don't find what they want in this food court, they simply move to another kopitiam even if it is far away.

What the PAP respond? They bus in new customers from another neighbourhood, give them discounts and slash portions for everyone.

alamak! ...

tis fudcot chope seats oredi den oni cannot find anyting gud 2 eat ...

faraway kopitiam got o man ngeh ngeh lai wanna share ur choped table anot? ...

Our parents made the mistake of giving too much power to one party & today the "lesser" mortals are paying the price.

As a "lesser" mortal I support for any party that is not PAP because I think it's the correct thing to do.

What I meant is letting the people to decide and have a choice of what is good for them not just at local levels but also national level.

Many still believe that if a 100% electoral seats go the ruling party then Singaporeans will not have a place to stand in this island in future especially the elder Singaporeans.
