Defamation lawsuit against PAP's Mr Ling Wei Hong

I have started the defamation lawsuit against PAP's Mr Ling Wei Hong, for defaming us - for suggesting that we are "weaponising" lawsuits to bully Singaporeans.

I would not allow a PAP member who so dare to speak in such a way to undermine Singapore, that there is Rule of Law in Singapore and it is everyone's legitimate right to sue anyone they so wish as long as there is a basis behind the cause of action.

It is not up to him to say otherwise. Today when I sent my warning letter to him, he had the audacity to instruct his staff not to receive.

Due to the fact that I am serving my own letter, I left the place and leaving down my letters.

As a result of him rejecting service of my letter, I shall not wish to or need to abide by the 14 days notice that is expected of all claimants. I shall file in in 1 or 2 days time and when I serve the actual court documents - restraining me from serving Mr Ling Wei Hong is contravention of Section 204A of the Penal Code - his staff are advised here that they do not need to contravene the law for their bosses.

A few days from now, I will serve Court documents to their law firm.

I will not allow anyone to undermine the legal system of our great country. Putting aside whether he is a PAP member or not.

We have initiated legal actions against PAP’s Ling Wei Hong, a lawyer who defamed us by saying that we are abusing court processes by suing people.

Mr Ling is definitely someone who can well afford to defend this legal lawsuit, so don’t say we are bullying commoners.

But what I found shocking is that he didn’t even want to accept our legal letters.

I didn't know serving legal letters need appointment one.... Which lawfirm does that? Why doesn't Ling Weihong do what he advised his followers and received the letters politely? Our letters very scary is it?

According to Raymond Ng no security was called.

Mr Raymond Ng came to my office unannounced and without any appointment yesterday, purportedly to “serve" two letters on me, on behalf of himself and his wife, Ms Iris Koh.

I was not around, so my staff called me. I confirmed that he is not my client and has no appointment with me, and asked my staff to invite him to leave.

Mr Raymond Ng refused to leave despite my staff asking him to, and instead insisted that my staff sign on the letters. They invited him to leave the letters, or to put them in our mailbox. He refused.

It was only when my staff went to get building security that he put down the letters and left.

In the letters, Mr Raymond Ng and Ms Iris Koh allege that my post of 10 September 2024 (https://tinyurI.com/5xewbye9) is defamatory of them.

The words they are specifically complaining about is the statement, “So I find it disconcerting when some try to abuse or weaponise court processes and legal proceedings.”

According to Mr Raymond Ng and Ms Iris Koh, this statement refers to them and their “recent legal involvements”.

They have demanded that I make a formal apology and also pay them $50,000 in damages each.

These claims are completely baseless and without merit, and I will defend against them vigorously.
